Mr. Silverstein spent over 30 years in corporate trademark departments with
J. C. Penney Company, Inc., Nabisco Brands, Inc., and Pfizer Inc. For the last 12 years at Pfizer, he was the head of its global trademark department, where he integrated the trademark portfolios and departments of two major acquired pharmaceutical and health care companies (Warner-Lambert Company and Pharmacia) and managed a group of trademark professionals located in the United States, Germany, and Japan.
He counseled and educated marketing executives, established relationships with a global network of trademark counsel and agents, and implemented global programs to protect the trademark, trade dress, and product configuration of VIAGRA, one of the best-known pharmaceutical products—and trademarks—in the world.
